Lourdes Coss - Author, Speaker, Coach, Teacher, Trainer, and Consultant

Lourdes Coss, MPA, CPPO - Maria de Lourdes Coss is the author of Procurement Methods: Effective Techniques. She is a speaker, teacher, coach, trainer, consultant, and D.I.S.C. Personality Assessment Trainer and Consultant.  Lourdes had a successful career as a procurement professional for over 27 years. She held Chief Procurement Officer and executive leadership positions in major public organizations in the U. S., such as: City of Chicago, City of Houston, Cook County, University of Illinois at Chicago, and Public Building Commission of Chicago.  

As a visionary and change agent, she successfully led transformations resulting in substantial cost savings, operational efficiencies, legislative changes, automation, and enhanced staff performance. Lourdes authored several public policies, many of which were institutionalized; she also authored the procurement code for the City of Houston and collaborated in the development of other legislative changes at other agencies.  

Lourdes also held positions in various Boards regarding energy, green procurement, minority and women business participation, and NIGP. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Puerto Rico and received her MPA from Florida State University. She is a Certified Public Procurement Officer, and the recipient of the 2016 Spirit of NIGP Award and the 2018 NIGP Integrity Award.
